Moncton, NB – June 11, 2008 – Magnetic Hill School is pleased to announce they recently received a very generous donation of computers to upgrade their computer lab. Mr. George Donovan of GoGii Games made the donation of 26 computers to the school as a way to show that individuals and corporations can have a meaningful impact on the education of all children. “I was happy to help our local school and the district by providing what I consider a necessary tool to teach today’s students to prepare them for the future. I hope this encourages other private companies to help give to their schools and local districts and support our youth to achieve great things” states Mr. Donovan.
This co-operation between private business and public education is a welcome and necessary partnership to help empower our youth to learn by providing state of the art equipment and software. This donation in concert with a school fundraiser will allow Magnetic Hill School to refurbish the entire computer lab and have the updated space ready for students when they return to school in September. “As a school we are extremely appreciative to have received such a generous gift. This is the first step in a process that will allow us to have a complete a makeover of our computer lab. Among our students and staff there is a new level of excitement and enthusiasm about the use technology and this has greatly increased computer usage in the school. This is a great example of community support that will benefit all of our students!” states Principal Nick Smith.
